There are times when you can look at a couple and just know that they are exquisitely paired, their love and deep respect for each other can be seen in every gesture. Dan and Shaya were just such a couple. They meet in NYC and on the third date it seemed as if signs were all pointing towards a lasting love, in fact a sign did actually proclaimed just that! It was for a sign for a band named Dan and Shaya the name of the tour was Where it All Began! Who would have known that almost two years later Dan would be lovingly designing the perfect sapphire engagement ring. He had planned the proposal around a Dan and Shaya concert in Chicago as the couple had grown fond of the band that was their namesake. A winter storm kept them inside but somehow in the comfort of their home, cozy and warm seemed the perfect way to ask the question of a lifetime.

Their wedding day was beautiful! Shaya's love of architecture brought her to The Beekman hotel with it's grand golden stairway and historic bar where she got into her Maggie Soterro lace gown and Badgley Mischa shoes. After a touching first look the couple enjoyed a drink at the bar, a reminder of their first trip together to Scotland where they enjoyed whiskey tasting.

Then after a quick romantic stroll in a local park they left for their ceremony and reception at Battery Gardens Restaurant where Underground Horns played a fantastic afro funk latin brass jazz inspired set to welcome guests. Polka Dot events worked with florist Barbra Bell Design to craft a gold, rose gold and blush design for the reception with quicksand roses, ranunculus and ivory tulips. Friends and family danced the night away, an absinthe bar and whiskey tasting station provided tastes of the couple's first trip to Scotland. Shaya and Dan stole a few moments outside as the dusk set on the NYC skyline.
